We finalized digital stories that will be parts of the SHELeadersVR application. In these stories, the queens introduce themselves and talk about their lives and ruling in 3D reconstructions of selected historical places, presently in ruins. The stories are created from 360 videos of the locations, green screen footage of the actress playing the queens, and 3D models of castles, basilicas, and other objects related to five kingdoms.
Queen Jelena Gruba of Bosnia is talking to us from Bobovac castle. We can see reconstructions of various parts of the architectural complex and interiors such as the chancery in the royal palace. She tells the story of her appointment on the Bosnian throne, difficult relations with powerful noble families, and reinstating the trade agreements with the Dubrovnik Republic.
Princess Milica of Serbia is telling her story from the Kruševac fortress and Ljubostinja monastery, where she spent the last years of her life as nun Eugenia. She is talking about her moral dilemma between relinquishing the land to King Sigismund of Hungary or preserving the land, but giving her youngest daughter Olivera’s hand in marriage to the Ottoman Sultan Bayezid.
Queen Maria Paleologina of North Macedonia is located in the reconstructed Royal palace, the remains of which can be seen inside the Skopje fortress. Her story is about using the lands of Ovče polje, Kratovo, Kočani, and Veles, rich with lead, copper, silver, but also gold, given to her as a dowager, to support the production of coins and jewelry.
Queen Vojsava Tribalda of Albania tells us her story from Kruje castle and basilica. She talks about her son, Albanian national hero Skenderbeg and his fight with the Ottomans for the independence of Albania. She has seen his destiny in her dream.
Montenegrin queen Izabeta Crnojević is addressing us from the Ćipur Monastery in Cetinje. She is talking about the progress that she and her husband Đurađ brought to Montenegro, including the first printing press.
