People involved in TV or VR production know that the most important phase for any production project is pre-production. This phase includes detailed planning of all production activities and setting up deadlines for the crew. We completed our pre-production for the VR application after meeting with historians/archaeologists, visual artists, 3D modelers, costume designer, music and sound designer, screenplay writer, actress, and VR developers. All of us will refer to the Production Bible document where the whole workflow is described. This document will serve as a guideline to the whole crew and contain all relevant information.
The archaeologists/historians from all involved countries have provided materials needed for 3D reconstructions of objects where selected female rulers used to live and the creation of costumes for the actress. Based on that materials our head visual artist will sketch the VR scenes and 3D modelers will create original appearances of historical buildings we recorded last year in 360. They will create digital stories with 3D reconstructions arising from recorded remains in front of the VR headset user. The costume designer will create costumes for each queen. The actress will wear them during filming on a green screen. The screenplay writer will finalize the scenarios for digital stories and intro cinematic. We agreed on music compositions and elements for sound design with our sound producer. VR developers will start creating blocking scenes for the application. SSST team will work on crowd systems for inhabiting 3D scenes, while DIGI.BA/SGG team will program the main application structure and gameplays. The beta version of VR application is planned for December 2023.
